Cutting pliers are arguably one of the most frequently used tools among model makers. As the variety of model kits expands, standard single-blade pliers often become damaged when cutting large assembly kits or the substantial, rigid sprues found on resin models. Using conventional double-blade pliers results in uneven cut surfaces and, more critically, can cause deformation or white marks due to part compression. Thus, we developed these GK Single-Blade Cutting Pliers. They retain the sharpness of conventional single-blade pliers but feature a longer, more robust cutting edge. They deliver outstanding performance even when cutting hard resin models and can even handle copper rods. However, I don't recommend doing that—cutting copper rods can be handled just fine with inexpensive, standard pliers. If you're looking to buy just one pair of pliers for model-making, this one is highly suitable.
